Jerry Calliste Jr. born November 26, 1965 in Bronx, New York is a lateral thinker, early stage entrepreneur, energetic team leader, who for the past 27 plus years has successfully founded, co-founded and executive managed entertainment companies, promoted artists and events, negotiated contracts and licensed and sold music B2C and B2B worldwide. Calliste Jr. has participated as chairman and advisor on the board of directors for music companies in New York and Ohio. Calliste Jr. developed and partnered music companies that collectively sold an "estimated" 5.0 million units, roughly 2.5 million units sold on one title worldwide. His peers say Calliste Jr. is a "...natural at identifying opportunities and new trends related to new ventures, entertainment, branding and marketing." Calliste Jr. has a keen eye and sharp mind for saving companies money by partnering companies and entrepreneurs with products that assist them to realize the most success with limited resources.

Today, Calliste Jr. is managing director and consultant at Calliste Communications (Callistecomm). Callistecomm soft launched January 2009 and an official launch is planned for sometime in 2010. The company provides consulting, customized software solutions and management methodologies and metrics to entrepreneurs and small businesses. Callistecomm primarily operates in the Leisure and Entertainment and Technology, Media and Telecommunications industries. Calliste Jr. and his team assist early stage entrepreneurs (start-ups) and small businesses to operate more effectively and efficiently to introduce new products and services to the North American consumer market and select emerging markets.

He volunteers his time for political and select causes and often finds himself educating people to the ins-and-outs of the 'new recorded music business'. In 2004 Calliste Jr. created Bassmint Music's innovative online media and public relations and marketing assistant coordinator internship curriculum that is recognized by 10 plus accredited colleges and universities such as The Ohio State University (OSU), Ohio University (OU), University of Tampa (UT) and University of Miami (UM). Calliste Jr. has volunteered 4,500 hours and directed supervised 30 interns. Calliste Jr. co-created the First Step Initiative (FSI). FSI is a program designed to award students and young adults who achieve academic goals and maintain 'good standing' in their communities with special gifts from various corporations and ultimately provide scholarships to attend college. Calliste Jr. manages and promotes Bassmint Music's 'First Step Initiative' recognized in 2005, 2006, and 2007 by the NBA Cleveland Cavaliers community services department.

In 2007 Calliste Jr. was invited and participated as a volunteer for then Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's finance committee where he emailed and called his influential contacts in New York, Connecticut and Ohio (as well as other States) to raise funds for the campaign and get out the vote. Since 2008 Calliste Jr is a volunteer special advisor at Virginia based Stargazer Foundations a U.S. 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, nonprofit foundation. The Stargazer Foundation has a philanthropic, entrepreneurial mission to use technology to help level the playing field for all and to make the world a better place. Stargazer is part of a global movement to harness the power of the Web and related technologies for social good.

Calliste Jr. currently attends the Ross School of Management and Leadership at Franklin University. He is a double major B.Sc. in IT and B.Sc. in MIS student (expected 2010/ 2011). He plans to test for the PMI.org PMP certification (expected 2010). He is highly proficient in math and in addition to his coursework he studies fractals, statistics, mathematical modeling, probability, reductionism, randomness, chaos and complexity. He is fluent in English, strengthening his Spanish and learning Mandarin Chinese.

In late 1992 he relocated to the Midwest on business and to take a break from the entertainment industry. In 1992 Calliste Jr. worked as an interim residential crisis manager and adaptive behavior specialist. In 1997 he started to research and worked on Internet based projects. He favors the LAMP platform and digital media (MP3, .WAV, DRM, H.263/H.264, streaming HD, 3G/4G, broadband web and mobile).

Since 1999, Calliste Jr. promoted artists and produced and directed events with companies FTV.com, Guess? Inc., World Gym Ohio, and hosted a private V.I.P. birthday bash for the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson and the Columbus Monthly magazine. He has negotiated and secured co-branding deals with distributors of Budweiser, Finlandia, Jack Daniels and others. In 2001 Calliste Jr. saw the opportunity that digital media brought to the recorded music business. So with some urging he incorporated Bassmint Music Inc. an online music company and has saved the company over $500K in licensing fees and artists advances when negotiating for new talent for the company.

Calliste Jr. is registered as a songwriter and music publisher (1983 and 1985 respectively) at ASCAP. His music appears on 70+ music compilations, of which 30 or more of those licensing deals occurred since 2003. He appears on labels such as Universal Music (UK), Virgin Music (UK), SuSU (UK), Sony/ Epic Records (USA), Virgin Music (CAN), Rapster (GER), Median Verlags GmbH (GER), Kontor (GER), Carrere/ Clever/ Pianola Music (FR), Dance Injection (NETH) and many others.

Calliste Jr.'s music also appears on popular video games "NBA Shootout 2004" by Sony Computer Entertainment of America (SCEA) and the popular "Grand Theft Auto Vice City" by Rockstar Games, the video game, TV commercial and Sony/ Epic Records soundtrack the Wildstyle Station for "Grand Theft Auto Vice City". Calliste Jr.'s hip hop electro-funk songs receive international acclaim primarily in UK, NETH, GER, FR, JP and CAN. To date he is referenced in three books related to influential songwriters and producers in hip hop and electro music.

Calliste Jr. has earned RIAA Gold awards for Ahmad's "Back in the Day" (as independent promoter), 2 In A Room's "Wiggle It" and a BPI Silver Award for "Al-Naafiysh (The Soul)" Note: Cutting Records has yet to certify "Al-Naafiysh (The Soul)" gold or more likely platinum.
